FOR NEW BUSINESSES STARTING IN THE CITY OF LEESBURG

1. Verify with City of Leesburg Planning & Zoning that the real estate parcel on which the business is located is
      properly zoned for the intended business activities.
2. Contact the Building Division and fill out a Change of Use/Occupancy permit application, and submit
      with a copy of the floorplan. 
3. After the permit is issued, the tenant will call for their fire inspection.  When the inspection passes, a CO will be
     issued and the business can open. 

TO START A NEW LEESBURG UTILITIES ACCOUNT

Starting your utility account is easy – you just need proper identification and to follow these steps:
 

  1. Complete the Online Utility Application. (There are 2 options: You may fill out the form and submit the application electronically or print to submit in person). 

  2. You will need picture identification (a drivers license, passport, government or military ID). 

  3. Residential utility applicants must include a property rental or purchase agreement. (Real estate agents may use a listing agreement).

  4. Commercial utility applicants may provide a copy of the lease for commercial property or provide landlord verification.

Once your application is received and processed, Customer Service will contact you to confirm the details of your request and to inform you of the service deposit or other fee requirements. Please allow at least 48 hours for response.

Deposits and fees may be paid by telephone using a MasterCard, Visa, or Discover credit/debit card. Mailed payments may be made by personal check or money order. You can use all these methods or cash when paying in person.
